nieuw project....

Tja, hoe gaan die dingen? Kasten vol projecten in diverse stadia van voltooiing, begint een quiltster met groot enthousiasme aan een zoveelste quilt... In dit geval, begon het met een stapeltje stofjes dat ik stomweg vergeten was... Cosmopolitan Fair, van Barbara Brackmann, kwam me tegemoet vallen toen ik een kast open trok! Dus hoppa, het mes erin! Een fris achtergrond kleurtje erbij, dat gaat helemaal goed komen...
How does this keep happening? Closets and cupboards full of projects in various stages of completion, but a quilter will start yet another project.... In this case, it started with a stack of fabrics that i had forgotten i owned... Cosmopolitan Fair, by Barbara Brackmann, came tumbling down as i opened a closet! So, i took it to the cuttingboard and started cutting. Combined it with a fresh splash of yellow/greenish, and i was convinced that this time, i was going to get a finish...

Ik was een lekker eind op weg met dit nieuwe project, totdat ik gisteren de uitlaat-hond van vrienden thuisbracht.... Tussen hun huis en mijn huis, pak hem beet 300 meter hemelsbreed, is het slechts 100 meter opzij, om even bij Steekjes en Kruisjes langs te gaan... Voelen jullie hem al komen? Jep, een nieuw project, sleutelhangers!
I was well on my way with this project, when yesterday, i dropped off the dog of friends, that i walk for them. Between their house and mine, a distance of about 300 meters, it is only another 100 meters to get to the lovely shop of Steekjes en Kruisjes..... Catch my drift? Yep, a whole new project, keychains!!

De eerste "finish" van 2013

Het is hier stil geweest, nadat ik meldde dat ik plannen had met mijn webwinkeltje... Nou, tadaaaa, daar istie dan!! Ik heb een miniquiltje in elkaar gedraaid, en 5 pakketjes met alle benodigde stof in mijn winkeltje gezet! Je vindt ze hier! Een leuk project, ook voor beginners. En, gemak dient de mens, alle stofjes zijn al op maat gesneden!! De afmeting is ongeveer 80 x 80 cm. Prima maat voor een babyquiltje. Op de foto is de binding niet te zien, maar deze zit ook in de kit, en is van hetzelfde geel als de driehoeken. Ik wil gewoon eens uitproberen of er interesse is voor miniquilt-kits en heb de prijs op €39,50 gezet. Het merendeel van de stoffen is van Judie Rothermel, mijn favoriet!!

It has been quiet here for quite a while.... That's because i was busy making the little quilt in the picture. I had a lot of fun in the process, because i had a plan.... YES! I have cut fabrics for  5 exactly the same miniquilts, and put them in my little webshop. Just to see if there is an interest for miniquilt-kits. This one meassures approx 30 x 30 inch, and would do perfect as a babyquilt... As this is a miniquilt, I got carried away, and have pre-cut all the fabrics in the kits. So all there is to do, is follow instructions and put the top together. Add batting and backing fabric, quilt, and put on the binding, that is also in the kit. Binding is not visible in the picture, but will be the same yellow as the triangles. You can find the kits here. Price is €39,50 Most of the fabrics are by Judie Rothermel, my favorite!!
